MEET THE BAND

Marv Lead Vocalist Wheelhouse Band

Marv, Lead Vocalist

"No...…..Guitar!"

At age eight I started guitar lessons with Mrs. Snyder.  I still have the guitar.  I think it was $16 at "Monkey" Wards.

She made me learn sight reading and scales. Hated her.

56 years later, Mrs. Snyder long gone I'm sure. Love her.

Rock bands, folk bands, classical, jazz.

Now....simple rockin' blues covers with my friends.

Relaxed, easy, no pressure.  Just want to have fun with the audience.

Scott Drummer Wheelhouse Band

Scott, Drummer

I own  “Open Hand Kempo” martial arts school here in McMinnville. I am a 5th degree Master level instructor.

I  am married to Melanie Miller and have 2 kid’s.

I’ve been playing drums since high school and marched with a professional drum corp for my senior year.

I met Marv and the guys through church and have playing with them for almost 15 years. Being part of a group of Christ following mentors has been a life changing experience. We formed the band Wheel House in an effort to share our music and belief of life service to Christ with others.

Billy, Rhythm Guitar

I was born in California in the 50’s, but spent most of my life in Oregon.  My first guitar was given to me at the age of 11.  I taught himself to play by listening to Credence records and playing along.  I have loved playing classic rock and blues ever since.
Wheelhouse is a group of true friends.  Marv and I started playing music together over twenty years ago!  I hope to share our love of music and the Lord through live performances and interacting with the crowd with my unique enthusiasm and style.

Cathy, Back-Up Vocalist

As as child, I dreamed of singing and playing the tambourine in an Archie's-style band. A love for harmonizing developed in my teen years. My musical experience includes touring Europe with a girls choir, church ensembles and musical theater. Working for the McMinnville School District by day, Wheelhouse provides a great place for me to hang out with my bassist hubby, Jason, and to keep my love of music alive.

Jason Bass Player Wheelhouse Band.jpg

Jason, Bass Player

I received an electric bass guitar as a Christmas gift in 1976, and, with three other Jr. High friends, formed a garage band that tormented my parents' neighborhood for many months. I played with two local heavy metal rock bands in the Bay Area, Mirage and Voyager, while in high school--sporting a long mane and living a rocker's lifestyle, which eventually caught up to me.   Thanks to a divine intervention, I’ve spent my adult years playing bass in churches and, most recently, with Wheelhouse.  My hair may be long gone, but the driving energy of a true rock bassist is still very much my signature style.
